MEET THE TEAM
Emma Parry
Position: Director
Years in Travel: 18
Personal Statement: After leaving school and with a passion for all things travel, I found my perfect job as a trainee travel consultant in my local village. This gave me the opportunity to create and develop my skills and do some exploring. I quickly moved up the ranks and earned promotion to Manager back in October 2004. So, after nearly 10 years I thought it was the time to branch out and create my own mark in this field and I decided to join forces with a former colleague, Lynette Simpson.
What is your most memorable travel experience? This is quite a hard one for me to answer as I think I have quite a few. I spent nearly three months travelling around Australia at the end of 2007 – which was absolutely fantastic. I got to see the amazing diversity of the country and everything it had to offer. More recently 3 destinations really stand out…South Africa (Kwazulu Natal) with its Zulu history, the scenery of the Drakensberg Mountains along with Safari… Iceland wow what an experience driving the Golden Circle in SuperJeeps and seeing the Northern lights was truly incredible… Finally the Seychelles with its picture perfect islands, power white sands and wonderful hotels.
What three things would you take on a desert island? Sun screen and book and a ticket to leave after 48 hours. I must admit I get itchy feet and prefer a holiday where I can explore. Don’t get me wrong, it’s lovely to relax on a beach or by a pool but I soon have to be up and about.
What is your dream holiday? My dream holiday… well I would have to be greedy and say an around the world trip! I would probably start in South Africa touch on Oz (the places I didn’t get around to seeing), New Zealand, South Pacific, West Coast of America and Home!
What is your favourite food? I would say Italian. My most memorable meal was at a restaurant in Florence along the River Arno, the best table in the house, on a balcony overlooking the Ponte Vecchio as the sun was setting – absolutely perfect!
What is your favourite time of year and why? It’s got to be the summer, well when we have them! Everything always looks better with some sunshine.
What is the best piece of news you’ve heard lately? I have a place on an educational trip to Canada in October, looking forward to another adventure.
Lynette Simpson
Position: Director
Years in travel: 30
Personal Statement: My career in the Travel & Tourism Industry has been varied (including working for a Tour Operator an Airline & being Manager at a Travel Agency). When the opportunity arose to join with a former colleague, Emma Parry, and start our own company I was delighted as we both share a passion for travel and are focused on the same high standard of customer service. Having worked together for many years now, we know we make an excellent team.
What is your most memorable travel experience? I have been lucky to enjoy so many including travelling through Scandinavia and Europe with a Dubliner & two Liverpudlian’s which was memorable & a great way to explore several European Cities. For R&R with my family, Barbados is fantastic with so many great restaurants to choose from (Lonestar being my favourite). I also enjoy listening to a variety of musicians there such as Steel Bands & Arturo Tappin & his band. I have been on several Ocean Cruises & recently enjoyed my first River Cruise on the Crystal Mozart. This was a great way to see the iconic cities of Budapest & Vienna while experiencing a high level of service & delicious food.
What three things would you take on a desert island? Definitely my iPhone for both music and communication… providing the wifi connection works! Plus my camera and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.
What is your dream holiday? A good balance between relaxing and exploring. I enjoy planning and experiencing multi-centre holidays, the ultimate being an “around the world” trip I would like to see more of South Africa, the USA and New Zealand.
What is your favourite food? Seafood and fresh fish. My most recent memory was overlooking the Indian Ocean at the Rasoi by Vineet restaurant in the One & Only San Geran in Mauritius. The food was delicious and the setting spectacular.
What is your favourite time of year and why? Spring as I can look forward to the summer (being eternally optimistic) and to planning holidays.
What is the best piece of news you’ve heard lately? I’ve been invited to Monaco for the TTA/Worldchoice Conference in November.
